When I was a child my Nan showed me a professional photo she had taken when she was 21; Nan was beautiful and I loved looking at the photograph and studying it. I loved hearing stories about her younger days moving from Ireland and living in London and it made it easier seeing this young and vibrant woman being amazing and independent.

I realise now how lucky I was to be able to relate to my Nan’s younger self, to know and see her as a young woman.

My one regret is not having photographs of my beloved ‘Belle’ who left us way to early and unexpectedly,
